Willow Kelly

Willow Kelly was raised in the PNW with a passion for the outdoors and the arts. She is a multidisciplinary sculptor and metalsmith who is influenced by exploration of landscapes and the navigation of personal experiences. Willow seeks to create art that is a celebration of nature’s beauty, that sparks meaningful conversations and builds connection with our community and the earth. Willow handcrafts fine jewelry, decor, and botanical accessories in precious metals, brass, glass and findings from nature. After several years working as a guide in outdoor recreation, Willow took some time off to travel solo in her vehicle across the country while teaching herself the art of silver sculpture. She spent countless hours alone in the wilderness, working out of a mobile metalsmith studio for a few years until she moved back to her hometown, Portland, Oregon. Although her studio is now home based, she continues to pack her tools to create art in the surrounding wilderness.
Materials and techniques used include precious metals, brass, glass, semi-precious stones, hand-woven glass beads, and findings from nature. All metal and bead work is hand-sculpted and slow-crafted. From sheets of metal and varied gauges of wire she uses a torch to solder and hand-powered tools to create her art. All pieces are one of a kind with intentional texture, patina and polish. Pieces are set with semi-precious stones and often paired with hand-woven glass beads.
