Tai Vautier’s jewelry is very natural in texture and mimics the surfaces found on tree bark, Lichens, parched earth and other natural elements. She hand fabricates all her jewelry from many of her own silver and gold alloys. She combines many metals together to create a fascinating topography; layers are mainly fused together, rarely soldered. High quality precious and semiprecious gemstones are used to adorn her work.
Tai has been making jewelry for 25 years. She is mainly self-taught and found her style through hours of experimentation with both metallurgy and intricate design concepts. Tai is deeply inspired by the natural textures found in the Pacific Northwest flora and fauna. She has her own little brick and mortar shop in downtown Lake Oswego.
