Tai Vautier lives in Portland Oregon and has been making highly unique jewelry for 25 years. Her work is very well known on a global scale, as she has pioneered the use of her hallmark textures to create highly unique jewelry. She is deeply inspired by the natural world and believes strongly in the preservation of natural habitat.
Materials and tools used include: several of her own silver and gold alloys. She fuses many layers of silver and gold together creating a unique topography. She adorns her work with high quality gemstones and a rich patina, this gives her work a very old look and feel. Her textures closely mimic natural surfaces found in the forest of the Pacific Northwest.
