Sue Pak is a Korean-American artist, born and raised in Iowa. She graduated with a BFA from the University of Iowa in Studio Art and an MFA in Sculpture from the San Francisco Art Institute. She worked in disaster restoration for over 10 years as an Art Technician/Expert in the Portland metro area. Throughout her long days restoring artwork, her desire to create an etching technique that worked on various metals became an obsession on etching, perfecting the recipe that she currently uses as her main technique for jewelry making. Her work simplifies landscape designs into wearable art for the everyday hiker, climber, adventure seeker. Sue has made this her own small business now for 10 years and she continues to sell at a local Vancouver Farmers Market, Portland street festivals, and various events throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Sue creates handmade Pacific Northwest landscape and book inspired jewelry and goods. Designs include Mt. Hood, Multnomah Falls, Three Sisters, Mt. Saint Helens, and Crater Lake. The jewelry includes double-sided necklaces, earrings, rings, bracelets, bookmarks, book necklaces, and guitar picks. jewelry is hand drawn, hand painted with a special recipe and dipped into an acid bath to allow designs to come to life.
