Avery and the Fairy Circle
Rowan Kingsbury is a Portland based author and illustrator with a passion for creating books and other items with wonder, warmth and whimsy. Her two recent young reader graphic novels feature Avery, a character who is obsessed with plants and animals as she explores nature outside her home in the forest. In Avery and the Fairy Circle, Avery stumbles into a magic fairy circle and shrinks to the size of a tiny fairy. Avery and the Squirrel Delivery features Avery in a charming and sweet fairy adventure that touches on themes of jealousy among friends and helping your community when it is in need. Both of these enchanting books have realistic ecology facts threaded throughout the fantastical story, and the overall message of caring for the environment and appreciating its natural balance is perfect for little kids. Rowan grew up in Washington state and graduated with a BFA in illustration from Pacific Northwest College of Art.
