Paulina Brie Kriebel

Paulina Brie Kriebel has been a fiber artist for over 30 years, and her work has evolved in a variety of directions since she started out as a hand spinner, coloring her wools with natural dyes and weaving garments and tapestries. She studied at the Oregon College of Art and Craft in the 1970's and returned to school at the Art Institute of Portland in the late 1980's, earning a bachelor’s degree in Apparel Design.
Her work for the past 10 years has concentrated on incorporating a variety of quilting techniques, painting, printing and dyeing into applique' panels which are sewn to textured natural fiber garments. Many of her designs are inspired by nature, ethnic cultures and the beautiful Pacific Northwest she calls home.
