Nena Howell

Born from her Tlingit Indian and Ukrainian roots, Nena Howell strives to infuse each completed work with themes of abundance, wellness, and stewardship. Nena feels her ancestral spirits guide as she creates her contemporary figurative oil paintings as an expression of movement and connection that intersect people and nature. In March 2023, Howell was named as one of the top 10 emerging artists in Eastern Washington.
After a full career in business and marketing, in the winter of 2020, Howell pivoted full-time to the development of her art. She currently works from her studio in Wenatchee, not far from her childhood home in Edmonds, Washington. Nena’s work celebrates all sentient life.
