Mitzi Kugler
3D Mixed Media/ Glass
Mitzi is an Oregonian who has always been inspired by her environment, using nature as a catalyst and the infinite possibilities it provides. Mitzi has been creating new techniques that have motivated her to push boundaries in fused glass. She creates a 3D effect by making intricate components in a glass torch and fusing those in her work. Mitzi has developed a unique technique using both hot and warm glass. Her standing glass art has texture that is not usually associated with glass. Mitzi also silk screens onto the back and front with glass enamel on some of her pieces. To display the standing art, she also welds her own frames.
Mitzi is married with four children, has a master’s in education, has hosted six overseas youth for home stays, lived overseas and has raised 13 Guide Dogs for the Blind. Motto: Be a cloud and ride the wind.
