Fiber Arts - Decorative

Juli Vignola is a Portland-based textile artist specializing in natural fabric dyeing, with her primary body of work consisting of nature and landscape-inspired art quilts. As a self-taught quilter with over fifteen years of sewing experience, she is committed to a sustainable art practice that celebrates and cares for the Earth. This commitment includes using organic fibers and repurposing scraps and leftover dyes. She has completed courses on natural dyeing through the Maiwa School of Textiles and has participated in various Portland art shows including Saturday Market, Crafty Wonderland, Portland Bazaar, Portland Open Studios, and Jeni Lee Showroom and Gallery. She also teaches quilting classes both online and in-person.

Materials and tools used include: fabric hand-dyed with plant-based elements such as seeds, flowers, roots, and bark, created into art quilts and textile goods that inspire connection to nature, the land, and each other through sustainable practices.
