Meet the Artist
Jeni Lee
Drawing/Painting
Jeni Lee's emotive, atmospheric work captures the ways in which we experience our surroundings, from desert to forest to sea, evoking the luminescence of our natural world. The environments in which she has lived and traveled have become the foundation of who she is as a painter. She holds a Bachelor of Art in Painting and Printmaking from Portland State University and has attended artist residencies in Kauai, New Mexico, Oregon's high desert, and the Vermont Studio Center. Her work is represented in collections including the University of Portland and Oregon State Treasury, as well as healthcare facilities like Kaiser Permanente and Legacy Health. An active community member, she serves on the all-volunteer artist-run board of Portland's Art in the Pearl Fine Art & Craft Festival.
Materials and tools used include: fluid paints, mineral pigments, and collected rainwater, layered and manipulated to evoke characteristics of earth and sea, creating meditative, atmospheric paintings that elicit our experiences with the natural world.
