Jeni Lee

Jeni Lee, of Portland, Oregon, has a Bachelor of Art in Painting and Printmaking from Portland State University and has attended artist residencies in Kauai, New Mexico, Oregon’s high desert, and the Vermont Studio Center. The environments in which Jeni Lee has lived and traveled have become the foundation of who she is as a painter. Her emotive, atmospheric work captures the ways in which we experience our surroundings, from desert to forest to sea, evoking the luminescence of our natural world. Jeni’s work is represented in residential and corporate collections including the University of Portland, the Oregon State Treasury, as well as hospitality and healthcare facilities, such as Kaiser Permanente and Legacy Health. An active member with the local art community, Jeni also serves on the all-volunteer artist run board of Portland’s Art in the Pearl Fine Art & Craft Festival. Her paintings and prints can be found at her showroom located inside Urbanite in SE Portland, White Bird Gallery in Cannon Beach, Cole Gallery in Edmonds, Washington and regional art festivals throughout the year.
Materials and technique: Through layering and manipulating materials, such as fluid paints, mineral pigments and rain or site-specific water, Jeni creates atmospheric abstract paintings reminiscent of our experiences with the natural world.
