Jay Schauer

The Birds That Wish That They Were Fish

The Wild Arts Festival extends a warm welcome to Jay Schauer and The Birds That Wish That They Were Fish, Jay’s book for children and all ages. For many years, Jay taught high school students in general biology, marine biology, oceanography, geology and environmental science. He later chose to combine his knowledge and the artistic talent of twelve of his previous students to create a book of stories about bird species that are associated with water. He includes fascinating features and behaviors, along with ecological interactions, to provide a wonderful picture of how a given bird survives and thrives in its particular niche. Coupled with original, creative images, it’s a must see! Come meet with Jay at our Festival this year and learn more about his unique book.
