A synthesis of backgrounds in graphic design/art direction (Gregg), as well as Botany and the Japanese floral design discipline of ikebana (Jacqueline), NaturaDesigns is a study of the boundless array of textures, shapes and colors found in nature - an exploration of minimalist abstract compositions into the sublime patterns, textures and color. With over 30 years of collaboration, each piece reflects examination of self and that of our natural surroundings.
From their studio in Washington State’s Olympic Mountains, NaturaDesigns not only makes the art but keeps the bees that produce the wax that is incorporated into the medium of their artwork. NaturaDesigns has developed techniques that fuse modern technology and ancient wax painting methodology. Creative expression that is driven by the power and timelessness of minimalism.
