Emma Marliave, of Tangent, Oregon, is a native Oregonian who is inspired by the nature around her. Her artistic journey began after her sister passed away and she received all of her sister’s childhood beads. Emma started to “play” with the beautiful pieces that she had accumulated and learned, through trial and error, her own process for her art. Emma has grown substantially as an artist and as a nature lover. Her work allows her to share her passion, as well as the amazing things that our world has to offer. Through the intricate process of bead weaving, Emma aspires to translate the vast and delicate detail of the world’s landscape, flora, and avifauna into an object that can be adorned and loved.
Materials and technique include the smallest delica beads to create a seamless tapestry. Each piece is a unique, hand-drafted pattern that is handwoven together and finished with hypoallergenic ear wires.
