Elizabeth spent her early years in the Pennsylvania countryside, either outdoors exploring freely or inside creating from whatever materials were available. Creating in general seemed to come in part, genetically. As a child and young adult, she logged many hours drawing huge colorful images, creating sculptures out of scraps of wood, glue and nails, and taking art classes whenever she could. Now she spends most of her creative time cutting paper. She completes many of her paper cuts by attaching colored, acid free paper to the back of the paper cut with bookbinding glue. Her papercuts range in size from 8”x8” to 40”x32”.

Artistically, she is almost entirely inspired by the environment and its unfathomable beauty. For as long as she can remember starting in Pennsylvania, then for ten years in Montana, and now on an island in the watery and mountainous Pacific Northwest, Elizabeth has only needed to step out her door to get the creative process rolling. Contemplating all we have to lose is too much to bear and so for her, it’s time to give back. Elizabeth is committed to giving a portion of the sales of her artwork and reproductions to nonprofits dedicated to bettering the environment and people’s lives who depend on it.
