GLASS

In 1994, Christopher Rich built his glassblowing studio in Portland and he has been passionately creating artwork ever since. Glass is gathered from a 2000 degree furnace. Pieces are then blown and shaped before annealing (the cooling process). Many different colors of glass are used to add year round beauty to the garden. His pieces are specifically designed to fit into the garden landscape, including bird baths and bird feeders as well as ornamental artwork.

Before moving to the Pacific Northwest, Christopher studied glassblowing in both Italy and England. He has considered himself an artist for his whole life and has exhibited creativity since he was very young.
