Meet the Artist
Cassandra Lee
Fiber Arts - Decorative
Cassandra Lee has been creating "things" and loving animals from a very young age, learning to sew around the same time her first rabbit, Indiana Louise, came to live with her. Now, 60 years later, she embraces being a Senior Citizen while creating pillows graced with whimsical animals that she has owned or observed while fishing, hiking, or simply sitting in her yard. Each pillow delights her in its own unique way, and she was recently featured in "Think, My Workspace" in 1859 Oregon Magazine. Her inspiration comes from animals she has considered family, as well as those she observes on early morning walks along the river or fishing in high mountain lakes.
Materials and tools used include: post-consumer products and end-of-bolt discontinued fabrics, combined with raw edge appliqué, free motion stitching, and hand embroidery techniques that add depth and character to her original animal designs featuring distinct personalities.
