Meet the Artist
Bonnie White
DRAWING/Painting
Bonnie White has been painting for over 25 years in the Columbia Gorge area, considering both Oregon and Washington her home. She expresses her passion for the beauty of her environment through watercolor and has structured her life to make time for painting. Her study of art has been self-directed with workshop instructors that include, most notably, Tom Lynch (watercolor), Ron Ranson (watercolor) and Kenn Backhaus (oil). She is moved by the quiet sensitivity of the work of Georgia O’Keefe, Andrew Wyeth, and Richard Schmid. She has received numerous awards, including Best of Show at the Southwest Washington Watercolor Society Show in May 2025, and her work has been selected for the 2010 National Watercolor Society Exhibit and is in the permanent public installation at Cascade Park Library in Vancouver, WA.
Materials and tools used include: traditional transparent watercolor (no black or white pigment, no acrylic or gouche, only professional quality watercolor pigments). She also creates prints, cards, a calendar, and magnets using images of her original paintings.
