Ashley Heitzman grew up in Connecticut, always craving more rhythm, more movement, more edge. That search led her to Philadelphia, where she studied at Tyler School of Art. After exploring printmaking, she found her way to metalsmithing, saying it felt like home. She earned her BFA and never stopped making art. In 2011, she moved to Portland, Oregon, where the energy of the city meets the quiet force of nature. That contrast continues to shape Natalie’s work.
Ashley fabricates in silver, brass and gold, using eco-friendly electro etching to create textures that evoke a familiar, shared past. She pairs brass and gold for an elevated–accessible feel and sources natural gemstones and pearls to bring focus, contrast and quiet elegance to each piece.
